All Aboard... almost!

Transporting our large group has never become more important than now because of the very positive response we have been getting as we share the message of Christ through music. As some have become aware we are in the process of upgrading our busses to newer more reliable and economical models. We have found two identical coaches that we feel will meet our needs for the next 15 years and the price is very low for the condition and mileage of the buses.

Prior to finding these buses we thought that we would have to raise $2,500 per seat for suitable busses but with this recent find we are calculating the price at only $1,500 per seat. The bus chart on our website will show you our fundraising progress to date.

Special thanks to the staff and students who have committed to personally raise funds for several of the 114 seats that we need. We also want to thank, in advance, all those who have or will contribute to this very important need.

With only $40,000 left to raise for the second bus we have just received $20,000 in matching fund pledges! This means that donations made before our deadline of Friday, January 27 can go twice as far. One person has already taken advantage of this opportunity so we now have just $18,500 left to raise in the next 10 days. Please help us make this dream come true and make your donation by January 27.

Spring Picnic 2011

Fountainview Academy enjoyed the final campus picnic of the year last Sunday, June 12, 2011. After playing games and socializing in the orchard, staff and students paid tribute to the years of dedication and selfless service given by the Bols. Later on, everyone enjoyed a wonderful meal for dinner. Then, the group challenge began. We were divided into groups of 8-10 people, with each group receiving a pile of building materials and secret instructions about the item they were to create. After guessing the object, all of the group members helped build the surprise project. As Grad 2011 approaches, we are all very grateful for the extra seating and the fun memories that these new picnic tables give.

Classical Concert 2011

On Sunday, February 27, 2011, Fountainview Academy enjoyed a classical concert put on by the students. The quintets, trios, duos, solos and other ensembles that filled the evening played works ranging from Bach to Dohnányi. Despite the snow, community members came out after seeing newspaper ads and hearing about the event on the radio. Many parents also attended after coming up to visit for the weekend. The enjoyable evening ended with a Classical Ensemble performance of Barber's Adagio for Strings and Sibelius's Finlandia, but was topped off by a dramatic performance of the Sibelius Violin Concerto by Valerie Jacobson. We're all excited about the possibilities for next year!

Week of Prayer: Chad and Fadia Kreuzer

Fountainview was blessed to have Chad and Fadia Kreuzer as speakers for our Spring Week of Prayer. Overcoming was the theme for the week, with a focus on forgiveness and total wellness. Meetings were held every morning at 6:35 AM and every evening at 7:00 PM. The seminar culminated with a delicious Agape Feast on the evening of February 12th.

First Semester Ends

On Thursday, January 20, so many Fountainview students had caught the flu that school and work were cancelled. Thankfully, most have recovered for this week's provincial exams. Sophomores took Math 10 on Monday and Science 10 this morning. Seniors took English 12 on Tuesday and juniors will write the Socials 11 exam this afternoon.

Tomorrow begins the third term and the second semester.
